I was born in Blackpool, England but grew up in Los Angeles
where I began making furniture in high school in the 60's. After obtaining a degree in engineering from California State University
I moved to Victoria where I worked in the construction industry. Over the years I made various pieces for my family and occasional
pieces for customers. In 1987 I decided to devote more time to furniture making. Thus began New Heritage Fine Furniture. Since
then my reputation has been built by producing mostly custom work. I have participated in the Stinking Fish Studio Tour -
a local art tour since 2001 and am a member of the Vancouver Island Woodworkers' Guild and The Furniture Society - an International
organization for furniture makers and designers. Two furnituremakers who have strongly influenced my work are Sam Maloof and
James Krenov.
